Cassie came home today, and we are all so thankful. She is so beautiful, and perfect in every way. I just love the smell of babies. She took her hospital pictures, but here are a few for now. As soon as the other pictures come I will post them. The girls are so excited, and very attentive to there new sister. She is as small as a baby doll, and fits just right in her new preemie outfits, but not for long. I told Carrie that her head is the size of an orange, it seems. She is 6lbs 4oz, as of today. She is eating very good, and is just so precious, we all can't stop kissing her.
Carrie had the baby on Feb. 24th at 5:15 pm. 1 month early, but we were able to get her to 36 weeks, and that is what the doctor was asking for. It seemed like the longest month ever. She was put on bed rest Jan. 28th. Cassie weighed 5lbs 15ozs, and was 18 inches long. Not bad for a preemie. She needs to stay in the hospital for a bit, but is otherwise doing good. She was in the NICU for almost a week, but has since graduated to a different part of the nursery, and was taken off of the oxygen, and is eating on her own. A little bit more and she can come home, hopefully by next week. We can't wait to see you baby girl, we love you!!!!!
Today is Sarah's 20th Birthday. I can't believe it! Wow do I feel old:( She did not want a cake since we had so much cake allready for Joey's birthday. She said she wanted chocolate covered strawberries, and that is what she got, plus money, you know money is always good too!
My little guy turned "5" today. We BBQed and got him a bounce house. He and his cousins and friends had a blast. The theme was spongebob, of course, he is into spongebob now. They dropped it off early, 11am and picked it up at 7pm. That is 8 hours of jumping...WOW!!!! The kids were sooo ready to settle down, and he didn't raise a fuss when they came to get it. They were too pooped to pop. All that matters is that he had a good time, and boy did he!!! He has such good manners too, he says "Thank you mom for such a good party...you are the best!" I wanted to cry. I'm pretty sure he said the same to daddy. He is very good at being thankful.
I do have to apologize for ignoring my blog once again. My little sis has been put on bed rest and had to spend the night in the hospital. She went into labor and thank goodness they were able to stop it. They gave her 2 shots of a steroid to speed the process of the babys lung developement, just in case of early delivery. She had to quit both her jobs for now, and concentrate on keeping the baby in the belly (that's how I say it) So far so good. I have been very busy and very tired from my busy days, but my little sis is totally worth it. Anything I can do to keep that baby in until at least 36 weeks. We are approaching on 34 weeks this Tuesday. Two more to go....Keep our fingers crossed!!!
Yummy Green Enchiladas, one of my families faves. So easy to make and not much cooking involved. Mix the sauce, chop the onion, shred the cheese, and cook the tortilla. That's it!!!!You stack them like pancakes. Here are some pics...Lots of pics! First, you take the soup and chilis, and blend them in the blender. Warm the blended mix in a sauce pan. Chop your onion(optional) and grate your cheese, and set aside. Once your sauce is warmed, you can cook your tortillas. Use a ladel or big spoon, and put some sauce on your plate, then a bit of cheese and onion, then a cooked tortilla. Repeat. Sauce, cheese, onion, tortilla. I usually will stack 4 tortillas, and that's it....They are yummy and filling. You can add jalepenos in the blender if you want them spicy. Hope you enjoy! One thing, The big can of chilis and the family size can of soup, feeds my family of 4. I would use 2 cans of each if you need to feed more than that. Rice, beans and a salad top off the meal.
I have been a little busy the last ten days or so...With the weather off and on, school, helping my sis, trying to catch up on my other blog, I think it is safe to say that I have completely overdid it this time. Oh well, tomorrow is another day!!! My little sis had her DR. appt. this week, and her father-in-law had open heart surgery (everything went well). The doc says everything looks fine, but she does have gestational diabetes. They are getting a nutrishionist, and go from there. Other news...My son has lost his second tooth, and is so very proud!!He says he can't wait to lose all of them...OK slow down there little guy. Don't grow up too fast. My other blog is up to date...Check it out on my blog list..Days of our lives...
