Happy New Year!

I cannot believe this year is over. The last 2 weeks have just been a blur to me really. I feel like I have been put through the ringer. It went way too fast, and I am still trying to catch up...now it's time to go back to school. We did have a great Christmas, and a wonderful prime rib dinner. Lots of presents for the kiddos, and best of all...we were all together. Couldn't ask for anything more.

All tuckered out!

Well i guess it is safe to say that this little one is done for the day! Sweet little Cassie just couldn't take anymore of our Christmas fun. It did not take long for those beautiful eyes to close once her head hit the pillow.

Kaytlyn and her after school program

Kaytlyns after school program put on a little play for us tonight. It was very cute, and very funny in some parts. It was Beauty and the Beast, and these little kiddos worked very hard in a short period of time. Good job kids!

The Chase

This was so much fun. We told the kids that the gingerbread man had to go to the oven in the cafeteria to bake just a bit more. After lunch we all went to get him...but he was gone. He left notes for us with a written clue on where or where he might be, and of course little drops of candy along the way for hints. After he escaped from the oven he ran to the bike racks. Then to the library...then to the principles office...then a 5th grade classroom...then the big pine tree in front of the school...then the playground...then back to class, only to be found by these very eager kiddos. All the clues were written on a gingerbread shaped clue, just like a scavenger hunt...it was the cutest thing!

Decorating the Gingerbread man

Now decorating him. We used almost 3 cans of frosting, and tons of candy. Each group did a body part, and boy did they love this part. The only thing that came to my mind was how sick these kiddos were going to be after eating him...yikes!

Making the Gingerbread man

To start off this busy school week we had to make and bake our gingerbread man. All the kids had a chance to stir the dough and just loved watching him bieng rolled into shape. It took 4 boxes of cookie mix. One for his head, one for his body, one for his 2 arms and one for his 2 legs...whew!
