Take me out to the ball game

My little guy won tickets to the Grizzlies game from school...Yippee!!! Good job Joey! He was very excited to say the least. He brought his mitt, just in case, but no luck catching a ball. We had a blast anyway and look forward to going again real soon. Hot dogs, seeds, peanuts, root beer...and don't forget all the goodies from the gift shop. He said he had "The best day ever". Little does he know that next week daddy is taking him to the Monster Jam. He is one lucky little boy!

Our home

My last post was back in January when we made an offer on the first house we were looking at. Well that offer got rejected as the seller did not want to fix some much needed repairs...anyhoo, we looked at some more homes after that, and just grew tired of looking at homes that needed repair immediately. We were also looking to stay in a certain price range so we don't hate our mortgage. My hubby was looking on-line one late night after work and found a home he wanted to look at. In the morning he asked me about it, and asked why we have not put it on our list. I told him I had not seen it before, it must be a new listing. It was a new listing, so we looked, we liked and made an offer. It is not in the same area we live in now, but it is only 5 years old and has no repairs to be done. We are spoiled to at least 1900 sq feet and a corner lot, and a family room. This one has all but is not a corner lot. No biggie...we love this home. The previous owner put a lot of extras in this home like crown molding throughout, and this beautiful tile...love it! Escrow is closing any day now, and we have been packing for a week. Hope to be moving in this weekend or early next week. It is a foreclosure and the bank wants it to close by march 2nd. Yippee!

Home buying venture

Update on the house we made an offer on...the seller chose another offer. There were some things that needed repair..like the pool, and the seller did not want to repair it or even go half on the price of the repair. Oh well, it was a let down, but we are back to looking again...

Starting off the New Year...

We are starting off the new year overwhelming ourselves. I finally finished my work, and just when I think It is time to relax and get ready for the next BIG survey coming up...SURPRISE!!! We are now in the process of buying our first home...WOW! I can't believe it either. Everything is approved, we are just negotiating with the seller. This is sooooooo stomach turning. We love this house, it is so perfect for us, and the best part is that it is only a few blocks from where we live now, and it has a pool. It's bigger than the house we live in now, and the price is awesome too. Our agent is a personal friend of mine and she is working her magic! Our offer goes in today, and hopefully they take it...If not, it is a good jumping off point...fingers crossed everyone! I will post more as soon as I can slow down a bit. Oh, I also forgot to mention that I finished editing my book, and resubmitted it with my publisher. I will get another proof to make sure it is correct, then it goes up for sale...Whew!

I finally did it!!!!

Another reason I have been busy, on top of working, is that i have finally started publishing one of my books. Yipppeee!!! It is called "Wouldn't you love to?" It is a short story of my ramblings about a bad day I had. Not real sure how good it is, but I wanted to try out this free publishing site called createspace.com. I do have another title on there called "Love potion #6" but I am only half way done with that one. I have acquired writers block. They are shipping the proof as we speak for me to preview and make changes if needed. Can't wait to see my name on the front cover...so excited and nervous at the same time. I still need to set up my e-store for sales but it will also be sold on Amazon. I will post more when I receive it in the mail, supposed to be on the 11th. It sure is hard to wait.

Happy New Year!

I cannot believe this year is over. The last 2 weeks have just been a blur to me really. I feel like I have been put through the ringer. It went way too fast, and I am still trying to catch up...now it's time to go back to school. We did have a great Christmas, and a wonderful prime rib dinner. Lots of presents for the kiddos, and best of all...we were all together. Couldn't ask for anything more.
