Joey lost his first tooth!!!

My son lost his first tooth lastnight. I can't believe it, it's too early to start losing teeth. Well he got his first tooth at 3 months, and had a mouthful by the time he turned 1, so I guess I shouldn't be surprised. The week before Christmas I had my neices over for the night, and Kaytlyn had 2 teeth that were about to come out. She lost one that evening and the other the next day. Joey had told me "Mommy I have a loose tooth too" I said to him "No baby, you are too little to lose your teeth" Well, while we were in Merced I was brushing his teeth, he normally brushes his own teeth, and I saw that he had another tooth growing in back of his bottom tooth. I said "Oh my gosh, you have another tooth coming in" His response to me was "I told you I had a loose tooth, and you didn't believe me did you" Of course I want to cry (but didn't). He then showed me how his tooth was wiggely. I was lost for words other than "Mommy is sorry" He didn't let me forget either that I didn't believe that he had a loose tooth. Who would of thought that a 4 year old would start getting their big teeth. He finally pulled it out last night and put it under his pillow for the tooth fairy!!! It was sooo cute how proud he was of his loose tooth and showed anyone who would look.

Good-bye Christmas

I can't believe that Christmas is over. Our's was a little extended this year as we had my very sweet and very funny brother-in-law visit for a few day's after Christmas. We started on Wednesday and ended on Tuesday. We went to Merced and stayed with my other very sweet and very funny brother-in-law and his family. We did our usual...Family Poker game, which is always fun. Of course Joey won, but me and my sister-in-law always try to give him a run for his money! It's fun to see the three brothers enjoy time together and they always talk about old times, remembering the crazy things they used to do as teenagers, most of which their mother never knew of. We always have a good time with them, thanks guys!!! We came home very late Christmas eve, we couldn't forget Santa's cookies and milk, as my son reminded us and of course we had to be home to get our gifts from Santa. Christmas morning came and Santa did too, the cookies and milk were all gone, and like a tornado my son tore threw his gifts...non-stop. You would have thought he had never had a gift in his whole life...It was great! We were so tired from the trip to Merced that we just layed around in our jammies, ate and played games all day.

Am I Done Yet???

Well, Im finally finished with my Christmas cards...whew. It was a long process, but worth it. Hope everyone likes them! Now onto the baking...Lots of baking that is. Since my Mom and Ronnie have everything in the world, the last 3 or 4 years now I have been making them big goodie baskets with junk, goodies and munchies. Who doesn't love that!!! Needless to say they look forward to it every year. Mom made a point to ask me this year if I was going to do a goodie basket for them, and when I said yes she did this little dance that was soooo funny, I could not help but crack up laughing. The woman is just crazy with a double z!!! I am making them for Joey's co-workers as well so I need to get a move on it. Today and tomorrow are my baking days and then on to the cooking.....I just love Christmas!!!!

Happy Birthday Kaytlyn

Saturday was Kaytlyns 8th Birthday!!! We celebrated at Grandma & Grandpa Saldanas house. Lots of fun and she made out pretty good. It must be nice to have your birthday so close to Christmas(double gifts in the same month..yipeee)  Her cake was Strawberry Shortcake and was fun to make, I included a waterfall because of a picture I had seen and put strawberries around the bottom (it took me 4 hours to decorate because it's mostly fondant, but worth every minute) Happy Birthday baby girl, I love you!!!!

Santa Clause is coming to town

Saturday was the Christmas Parade, Tree lighting ceremony, and Christmas show here in our town. It was cold so we warmed ourselves with yummy hot cocoa(topped with whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate of course). The best part was Santa of course. Joey did good this year, and actually took a picture with him. The kids had a blast running after the candy canes that were thrown from the floats, waving to their friends and rolling down the little hills in the park.

Tree Time

We were going to get a real tree this year, but as we were bringing out the decorations from the garage, our little guy saw the fake tree that we have and insisted on putting it up. It's hard to resist that sweet little face. Well here it is, decorated by joey. The glow to the right is actually a polar bear, I couldn't get a clear shot.
